Central IL housing counseling agencies receive grant to improve financial education

CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Housing counseling agencies throughout the state are set to receive a share of $6 million aimed at enhancing financial literacy. Agencies located in Central Illinois will benefit from this funding allocation.

The Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) revealed last week that these grants are intended to bolster services such as homebuyer education before purchase and foreclosure prevention counseling, positively impacting thousands of families across Illinois.
