Russell and Shirley Dermond, residents of Lake Oconee, Georgia, were discovered murdered in May 2014, under shocking circumstances.

On May 6, 2014, the decapitated body of 88-year-old Russell Dermond was discovered in the garage of his Lake Oconee home, marking the beginning of a chilling investigation.

Authorities pulled the body of his wife, 87-year-old Shirley Dermond, from the lake on May 16th, 2014 after it was found by a fisherman.

In May of 2024, the FBI said that additional DNA evidence has been found in connection with this case.
