18th Annual Pedal HHI event expected to impact travel

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. () — The 18th Annual Pedal Hilton Head Island cycling event is expected to impact travel of residents and visitors Sunday morning.

Officials are expecting the event to draw in around 700 cyclist who will begin staging at Lowcountry Celebration Park on Pope Avenue at 7:30 a.m. They will continue departing in waves throughout the morning.

Motorists should be aware of potential delays and exercise caution, especially along the following:

  • Town of Hilton Head Island pathways
  • US 278
  • Cross Island Parkway
  • Pope Avenue
  • Cordillo Parkway
  • New Orleans Road
  • Palmetto Bay Road
  • Marshland Road
  • Leg O Mutton Road
  • Mathews Drive
  • Dillon Road
  • Union Cemetery Road
  • Beach City Road
  • Gumtree Road
  • Squire Pope Road
