Augusta, Ga – As the festive season kicks into full swing, Augusta and its neighboring communities are gearing up for a wide array of holiday festivities. The Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) promises an abundance of enchanting events for all to experience. We’ve curated a comprehensive holiday guide to keep you informed about these joyful happenings, with updates to follow as new events are announced. Don’t forget to check the end of this article for details on Christmas parades across several cities.
Richmond County Area:

- Augusta University to host annual Lighting of the Tree after the Lighting of the Tree festivities, the Department of Music will present Winter Wonderland Spectacular inside the Grover C. - The Boyhood Home of U.S. President Woodrow Wilson located at 419 Seventh Street in downtown Augusta is holding its annual candlelight tour Friday, December 5th, and Saturday, December 6th, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. each night. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and members of the military, and $10 for school-aged children (but not recommended for children under the age of 5). Columbia County Area:
- Evans on Ice will be open at Evans Towne Center Park through Jan. 17. For hours and tickets, visit
- Christmas in Columbia County Vendor Village will be held from Dec. 5-16 from 6-9 p.m. at the Evans Market Pavilion. For more information, visit the event Facebook page.
- The City of Grovetown’s Annual Christmas Festival, “Once Upon a Christmastime,” will be held from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Liberty Park Community Center. For more information, visit the Grovetown Leisure and Recreation Facebook page.
Aiken County Area:
- Jingle Jam, a free family-friendly event next Sunday, December 7th from 4 to 7 PM at Cedar Creek Church in Aiken, SC
- First Providence Baptist Church (North Augusta, SC) 2nd Annual Christmas Cantata, featuring Minister Dr. Patrice Minor Floyd, founder of the Javacya Arts Conservatory, along with six-time Grammy-nominated artist Ashanti “The Mad Violinist” Floyd. This uplifting celebration will include singing, dancing, and extraordinary violin performances as we honor and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
- The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department55th Annual Christmas Craft Show, happening Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6, from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM at the H. Odell Weeks Activities Center. This beloved rain-or-shine event features talented exhibitors from across the Southeast offering handcrafted décor, jewelry, pottery, clothing, and gifts
- NAUG Christmas Tree Lighting, The North Augusta Christmas Tree Lighting is coming up on December 2 from 5 p.m. at Calhoun Park (714 Georgia Avenue.) The middle school bands will play, and Santa will be there to light the tree. Downtown will be filled with holiday spirit and decorations galore. Sip around downtown while you shop in our unique stores and enjoy wonderful restaurants. Festivities include cookies, hot cocoa, in-store decorations, and much more. Come celebrate the holidays and experience downtown. ‘Tis the season! Make sure to look for Trolley Stop Signs around downtown and catch a free ride!
- Santa’s Southern Lights at Sara’s Farm Adventure, Dates: November 21, 2025 – December 28, 2025 Sara’s Farm Adventure 130 Greenhouse Rd. Trenton, SC 29847. - Johnston Christmas Tree Lighting, A community-wide Christmas Holiday Season kickoff December 1, 5:30-7 p.m., in downtown Johnston. The event is sponsored by the Johnston Development Corporation. The annual Christmas Tree Lighting Program will be held at the Municipal Parking Lot. The Program will feature performances by the Johnston Elementary School Chorus and Johnston-Edgefield-Trenton Middle School Chorus. Santa will also be attending, so bring a camera if you want to get a picture. In addition, the Program will consist of the reading of The Christmas Story and the lighting of the Town Christmas Tree by Johnston Mayor Thomas Holmes at 6 p.m. The event will also feature several food vendors as well as crafters. The event is free and open to all.
- City of Aiken Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department Announces 2025 Festival of Trees at the Center for African American History, Art & Culture. Lighting of the Trees on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at CAAHAC. Join the Aiken community for an evening of holiday cheer as Santa Claus makes a special appearance for free photos from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Photos are limited to groups of five or fewer, and guests are required to bring their own devices to take pictures. Immediately following the opening of the Festival of Trees is the City of Aiken`s Lighting of the Trees Ceremony on Newberry Street. The Festival of Trees will be open to the public from Thursday, December 4, 2025, through Saturday, January 3, 2026, with visiting hours Wednesday through Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Visitors will be able to vote on their favorite tree. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be announced Monday, Dec. 29th.
- Light Up the Season at the Aiken`s 37th Annual Downtown Tree Lighting, Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Newberry Street Festival Center. The event is free and open to the public. In case of rain, the event will be held Friday, December 5. This holiday tradition will feature live performances from local choirs, festive music, refreshments, family activities and special visits from Mayor Teddy Milner and Santa Claus. Guests can enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and cider or purchase s`mores kits to roast by the fire. The highlight of the evening will be the lighting of Aiken`s 24-foot “dancing” Christmas tree, with more than 8,000 lights synchronized to holiday classics. All are welcome!
- North Augusta Christmas Tour of Homes, This year`s tour features five beautifully decorated homes, plus a stop at the North Augusta Arts & Heritage Center for light refreshments. - Aiken Hoofbeats Christmas Parade, The Aiken Hoofbeats Christmas Parade sponsored by the Aiken Equine Rescue will be held Sunday, December 14th, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. This annual Aiken tradition sees horse riders and dog lovers converge for a one-of-a-kind Christmas Parade celebrating Aiken’s equestrian heritage will trot through downtown Aiken starting at 142 Laurens Street SW in downtown Aiken, SC. All proceeds from registration goes to nonprofits right here in our community, with last year`s parade giving $8,000 across five organizations.
Christmas Parades: December 6th & 7th:
- DECEMBER 6th
- Grovetown – 10AM! The parade route will be along Wrightsboro Rd., as entrants travel from Trudeau Tr. down to Horizon S Pkwy. handing out candy and treats to onlookers.
- New Ellenton – 12pm – 2pm
- Augusta – Augusta from 1-4 p.m. Following the parade will the the 2025 Christmas Tree Light Up Spectacular. The tree lighting is expected to start around 6 p.m
- Graniteville – Join the Town of Graniteville for the annual GVW Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 6th, at 3 PM. Downtown Graniteville.
- DECEMBER 7th
- North Augusta – 3-5 p.m. on Georgia Avenue in downtown North Augusta. Free to attend.
- Jackson – Highway 125 in Jackson. Parade begins at 2 PM.
- Aiken – the parade will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Aiken. For more information, visit

- Edgefield – Downtown Edgefield starting at 3 pm! This annual Christmas Parade promises to be another exciting event
