URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — In a day marked by back-to-back emergencies, Urbana firefighters found themselves racing to a second blaze just hours after wrapping up their response to an earlier house fire on Sunday.
According to Deputy Fire Chief Steve Doggett, the urgent call came around 10:15 p.m., directing crews to a garage fire at a residence near the intersection of West Hill Street and North Goodwin Avenue. Thanks to their swift response, firefighters arrived on the scene within about three minutes, only to be greeted by flames threatening nearby buildings from a detached garage.
