In Urbana, Illinois, the local fire department made quite a splash on Friday by setting up a pool outside Urbana High School for a spirited Polar Plunge event. This chilly endeavor was orchestrated to garner support and raise funds for athletes with special needs who participate in the Special Olympics.
This marks the second time the high school has hosted the Polar Plunge, an event that saw more than a dozen participants brave the cold waters for a worthy cause. The initiative highlights the community’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and awareness for special needs athletes.
