LAKE WALES, Fla. (WFLA) — In an ongoing investigation, the Lake Wales Police Department is reaching out to the community for assistance in identifying two suspects involved in a gas station robbery that took place last Friday.

The incident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. on November 14, at the Quality Petroleum gas station located at 704 Scenic Highway North.

According to police reports, two masked individuals entered the establishment during a time when only a single employee was present. While one of the men engaged the employee by approaching the counter with two Gatorades, acting as though he was a regular customer, his accomplice maneuvered behind the counter.

In a related story, authorities are also investigating a fatal shooting in Ybor City, where a man was killed during a “roadway dispute.” The shooter has claimed self-defense in the incident.

Lake Wales police said the first suspect was wearing grey pants, a black sweatshirt, gloves, sunglasses, dark shoes, and a multicolored mask. The second suspect, the one who was armed, was wearing a black sweatshirt and pants, gloves, sunglasses, and a black mask.
