SAVANNAH, Ga. — Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a touch of sunshine!
This Valentine’s Day offers a delightful mix of clear skies and mild temperatures, hovering around the mid to upper 60s—ideal for romantic outings. However, as the day progresses, expect clouds to gradually gather, with a chance of light rain this evening. This shift is a precursor to a robust cold front set to arrive tomorrow, bringing with it potentially strong storms and heavy showers, continuing into Monday.

TIMELINE: The main window for storm activity begins mid-afternoon as the cold front approaches from the west. It will slowly advance toward the coast, likely moving offshore around dinner time. Some showers may persist overnight and into early Monday morning.
THREATS: Expect heavy rainfall, with possible totals reaching up to an inch, and isolated areas seeing even more. This rainfall is much needed due to the ongoing severe drought conditions in the area. Additionally, gusty winds are anticipated, with speeds potentially hitting 30 to 35 mph. There’s also a minimal risk for tornadoes and hail as the storms pass through tomorrow.

By Monday, skies will clear, although some clouds will still linger, paving the way for sunshine and breezy conditions. Highs will settle into the upper 60s. As the week progresses, temperatures will climb, starting with the low 70s on Tuesday and reaching the mid-70s by Wednesday. By the weekend, expect temperatures to soar into the upper 70s and even the lower 80s.
