DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Danville organizations are collaborating to keep students excited and employed within the community.

Vermilion County Workforce Education is a partnership created between Vermilion Advantage, DACC and Vermilion Vocational Education Delivery System.

The goal of their upcoming social media campaign is to inform both teens and their parents of the work opportunities right in their backyard, with the hope of keeping local talent around.

“Of course, there’s going to be students who want to leave and go to the big city, and that’s great. You should go explore and do what you need to do, but also realize that there is value in staying small,” Director Jodie Ingram said. “Vermilion County is a great place to live, but obviously, there’s opportunities for improvement, there’s opportunities for change. If you stick around, you can be part of that change and be part of what you want Danville and Vermilion County to look like.”

The campaign starts next week on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. It will work to not only highlight job opportunities but also paths to education.
