AUGUSTA, Ga. – On a serene Tuesday evening, Augusta became the backdrop for Via Cognitive Health’s poignant second annual Lights for Memories service. The event served as a heartfelt tribute to individuals affected by dementia.

Cammie Jones, the president of the Via Cognitive Health board, shared her insights on the initiative. “It’s a meaningful way to remember and honor those living with dementia,” she explained. “Our facility operates as a day center for individuals with dementia and Alzheimer’s, offering a variety of activities ranging from physical exercise to artistic projects and cognitive exercises aimed at promoting brain health throughout the day.”

Jones’s personal connection to the cause adds a layer of commitment to her role. “My father has dementia, which deeply fuels my interest in Alzheimer’s and dementia,” she revealed. “Having served on the board for several years and now as the board chair, my mission is to help dispel the stigma surrounding these conditions. We also take pride in showcasing our beautiful facility that provides daily support to those in need.”

In addition to the Lights for Memories service, Via Cognitive Health organizes various events throughout the year to boost awareness and foster community understanding of dementia-related challenges.
