SAVANNAH, Ga. () – has obtained new video showing Oglethorpe Mall shooting suspect Aujawan Hymon that multiple law enforcement sources said helped lead to his arrest.
The video, posted to social media, shows the 20-year-old filmed at a Richmond Hill residence before he was tracked there and arrested at around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, July 5.
Due to its graphic nature, we cannot show the full two-minute video, but it includes Hymon pointing a pistol at the camera several times, lip synching violent rap lyrics and flashing large wads of cash.
Notably, behind him in a few clips, is an AR-15 style rifle.
Also visible is the hospital band on his right wrist and a cast on his left wrist where he was likely treated.
In surveillance video of the crime, law enforcement sources told Hymon is in a blue hat and white shirt, holding a weapon and running toward the back of the store.
The only charge Hymon is facing now is illegal possession of a firearm.
first reported this is not his first run in with the law.
Jail records show Hymon has a criminal history dating back to 2023 for illegal pistol or revolver charges under the age of 18, spending just 12 days in jail.
Now he is back behind bars, this time held without bond.
It is unclear if Hymon is going to face more charges in the future, but he is not the only suspect wanted in this crime, only the first caught.
