KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A tense standoff unfolded at a Kissimmee apartment complex early Friday, resulting in deputies shooting and killing a suspect, as reported by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
According to deputies, the incident began around 10:40 a.m. when they arrived at the Jamison Apartments, located near Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway and Partin Settlement Road, to look into a report of domestic violence.
However, when law enforcement attempted to approach the 30-year-old individual in question, he responded by closing and securing the apartment door, they explained.
Investigators noted that during this time, they observed the suspect broadcasting on Facebook Live, where he made suicidal comments and showed a firearm.

Throughout the day, hostage negotiators and family members tried to convince the suspect to put down his firearm and surrender to deputies, according to the sheriff’s office.
By Friday afternoon, deputies deployed a chemical agent to persuade the suspect to surrender, and he left the building before assuming a “prone position on the ground,” deputies stated.
“The suspect still had the handgun in his hand and was pointing it at his head,” deputies continued. “Just before 9 p.m., the suspect fired his weapon and deputies returned fire, striking the suspect.”
The suspect was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, deputies said.
Now, FDLE investigators are set to investigate the shooting.
