TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – On Tuesday, voters headed to the polls for the Florida Senate District 11 Special Election. This election sees Republican Ralph Massullo competing against Democrat Ash Marwah to fill the vacancy left by Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia.
The area encompassed by District 11 includes parts of Pasco, Citrus, Hernando, and Sumter counties. Before the polls opened on Tuesday morning, the Pasco Supervisor of Elections reported that over 3,200 residents had already participated by voting early or sending in their ballots by mail.

Massullo, who previously served as a Representative for House District 23, secured his position on the ballot by winning the Republican primary election.
If successful, Massullo’s agenda focuses on enhancing workforce and career opportunities, along with environmental protection and improvement.
Massullo shared with News Channel 8 his intention to “continue to implement the great policies the House and Senate, along with Governor DeSantis, have been able to do in these last 8 years.”
Marwah is a civil engineer from the Villages. His goals include working towards affordability, accountability, and protecting Florida’s natural resources.
“We need to bring homeowners’ insurance costs down so the housing costs can come down,” he previously described.
Polls close at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
