CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The WBGL radio station is providing beds for kids in need this Saturday.

WBGL is partnering with the Sleep in Heavenly Peace organization to host a bed build day at their studio in Champaign. The goal is to make sure that no child sleeps on the floor across the city.

The radio station is teaming up with this organization to build 80 beds for children in need in the area. Over 100 kids in Central Illinois are on the waitlist to receive a bed from Sleep in Heavenly Peace. WBGL is looking to provide them with a bed to promote physical, emotional and mental support.

Over 150 volunteers have registered to work together on building the 80 beds. The event is taking place at the WBGL station at 4101 Fieldstone Road from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
