WCSO: Gray Resident Faces Aggravated Child Abuse Charges Following Gunfire Incident Inside Home


JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) – Authorities in Gray, Tennessee, have taken a man into custody following a domestic disturbance incident. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) arrested the individual on the evening of May 21, resulting in multiple charges.

The suspect, identified as 47-year-old Robert C. Hall, faces several allegations, according to law enforcement.

  • 1 count of Aggravated Assault
  • 3 counts of Aggravated Child Abuse and Neglect
  • Reckless Endangerment
  • False Imprisonment
  • Interference with Emergency Calls

In an official statement, the WCSO detailed that a victim reported Hall allegedly discharged a firearm inside the residence, made threats of self-harm, and forcibly restrained her to stop her from calling emergency services. At the time of the incident, three young children were reportedly asleep in the house.

Deputies located the weapon at the scene and apprehended Hall without any complications.

Currently, Hall is detained at the Washington County Detention Center with bail set at $300,000. He is slated to appear in court on June 2, according to the WCSO.
