JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) — A man was arrested in the South Central area of Jonesborough for allegedly setting the front yard of a home on fire and shooting a gun toward the building, hitting it and a vehicle, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO).
A news release from the WCSO states that Danny Lee Greene, 40, was found, taken into custody and charged on July 31 with reckless endangerment, prohibited weapons and attempted aggravated arson following the incident, which took place on July 25.
The release said that deputies responded to a home in the 100 block of Hillrise Drive on July 25, where victims told them Greene allegedly fired five shots towards their residence, hitting a car and the home.
“Additionally, a wine bottle containing gasoline was left on their front step,” the release states.
The victims also reported to police that Greene had started a fire in their yard.
Arrest warrants were issued for Greene, and he was taken into custody on Thursday, the WCSO said. As of Monday afternoon, he was being held at the Washington County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
