Whataburger is making a significant entrance into the Tampa Bay area, with its highly anticipated first location set to open on February 12 in Largo, Florida. This marks an exciting chapter in the chain’s expansion across the Sunshine State.
Located at 10150 Ulmerton Road, the Largo outlet promises to be a hub of activity, welcoming guests round-the-clock, seven days a week. The 24-hour service ensures that Whataburger fans can satisfy their burger cravings at any time of the day or night.
Whataburger’s CEO, Debbie Stroud, reflected on the enthusiastic response the brand received when the Whataburger Food Truck visited Tampa in 2024. “The Florida heat was intense, but the energy and excitement from fans were even more so,” said Stroud. “We encountered individuals with cherished Whataburger memories as well as new fans eager for more. We promised to return, and on February 12, we’re thrilled to fulfill that promise with our Largo opening. We aim to bring the community not just our signature, freshly made food, but also a warm, welcoming team embodying our orange and white pride.”
Largo is just the beginning for Whataburger’s presence in Tampa Bay. The company plans to establish a total of eight locations across the region by the end of 2027, signaling a commitment to bringing its beloved offerings to even more fans in the area.
