WASHINGTON – The Trump administration asserted in a court submission on Monday that the ongoing construction of a ballroom at the White House is imperative for national security reasons.

This statement was issued in reaction to a lawsuit lodged by the National Trust for Historic Preservation the previous Friday. The organization is seeking a federal judge’s intervention to pause the project until it undergoes several independent assessments and secures Congressional approval.
