SCOTT COUNTY, Va. – A wildfire is actively burning in the Hiltons area of Scott County, close to the Virginia-Tennessee border, on Sunday night.

Emergency Management Director Jeff Brickey of Scott County confirmed that teams from the Virginia Department of Forestry, along with the Hiltons Volunteer Fire Department, are on-site battling the blaze. Currently, there is no evacuation order in place for residents.

The fire, situated near Bristol and Ap Carter Highway, has spread across approximately 45 acres. As reported by the Virginia Department of Forestry, the blaze is about 50% contained.
