WILKES COUNTY, Ga. () – A man named Shannon Box from Wilkes County has been sentenced after admitting to the murder of three individuals in December 2024, as reported by the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday.
According to the sheriff’s office, Box received three consecutive life sentences, along with an extra 25 years, for the brutal acts of stabbing and beating that resulted in these deaths.
- Chauncey Box, age 55, of Tignall, Ga.
- Brenda Lipscomb, age 67, of Tignall, Ga.
- Michael Schmidt, age 55, of Tignall, Ga.
During the violent incident, Box also attacked a woman who managed to survive her injuries.
“I want to express my gratitude to my entire team for their dedication and professionalism in handling this case,” stated Sheriff Darrell Powers in a statement issued on March 11. He praised the efforts of Sgt. Terry Reese, who first responded to the scene, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for their support, as well as Lt. Jason Darracott and Major John Crookham for their role in capturing the suspect.
