TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) — On Wednesday, the Florida House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved a bill that proposes recognizing the flamingo as the official state bird.

The measure, known as HB-11, received enthusiastic support and also aims to honor the Florida scrub-jay as the official state songbird.
