SAVANNAH, Ga. () — The Windsor Forest boys basketball team earned an upset victory in the boys’ Region 3-AAA basketball tournament championship game with an exciting, 61-59, victory on the campus of Calvary Day on Feb. 15.

The Knights trailed by one with under one minute to play before Landon Page drained a three-pointer to give them the lead by two.

“It created a chip on my shoulder,” said Page, whose 3-point field goal ended being the game winner. “Every game that we played after that game was fought this game right here. So yeah, it definitely played a big part of the game today.”

Windsor Forest previously lost to Calvary day, 64-47, on Dec. 17. Calvary Day was the only team make it through the regular season region schedule without a loss. They entered the tournament 13-0.

“It helped us kind of concentrate on us,” Windsor Forest head coach Aaron Clark said. “You can’t change what a team looks like. They’re not going to come out and be [6-foot-5]. They’re going to be [6-foot-10]. So you have to go in the lab and do what you do best. That made us look in the mirror and look on ourselves.”

Windsor Forest will be a top-eight seed for the boys’ Class AAA state tournament when it begins on Feb. 19. Calvary Day will be seeded in the top 16 of the Class A-AAA private tournament, which begins on the same day. Both teams will have home playoff matchups in the first round.
