CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Softball and baseball teams across the state claimed sectional and regional crowns on a busy Saturday.

In Class 3A softball, Central won its first regional title in 44 years in a 4-1 victory over Mahomet Seymour. The Maroons will play Rochester at the Glenwood sectional Wednesday at 4 p.m.

In Class 2A softball, Unity beat U-High 16-1 in the sectional final and will play Auburn in super sectionals at Millikin on Monday at 4:30 p.m.

A handful of WCIA 3 viewing area baseball teams were competing for hardware as well, here are Saturday’s results:
