Winter Weather Alert: Rain Transitions to Snow Today with More Snowfall Expected Friday Night

Today, the Storm Team 11 forecast predicts predominantly cloudy skies, accompanied by a 70% likelihood of rain transitioning into snow showers. The temperature is expected to reach a high of 40 degrees.

Tonight, we anticipate mostly cloudy skies with a 70% chance of snow showers continuing. Temperatures will drop to a low of 21 degrees.

The majority of the snow accumulation will occur in the mountainous regions of East Tennessee and North Carolina. In Johnson City, snow deposits could reach up to an inch, while areas west of the Tri-Cities may see lesser amounts.

Thursday will bring mostly cloudy conditions with a 40% chance of snow showers during the morning hours.

By Thursday night, skies are predicted to clear slightly to partly cloudy, with temperatures falling to a low of 20 degrees.

Partly cloudy skies are expected early on Friday, and then increasing clouds late with a 50% chance of rain to snow showers. The high will be 42 degrees.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected on Friday night with a chance of snow showers. The low will be 24 degrees. 

Mostly cloudy skies are expected on Saturday with a 20% chance of snow showers early. The high will be 35 degrees.

Additional accumulation is expected in the mountains Friday night through Saturday.

Partly cloudy skies are expected on Saturday night with a low of 18 degrees.

Partly cloudy skies are expected on Sunday with a high of 44 degrees. There is a chance of flurries towards the north.

Partly cloudy skies are expected on Sunday night with a low of 28 degrees.

Passing clouds are expected on Monday with a high of 51 degrees.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected late on Tuesday with a 30% chance of rain. The high will be 57 degrees.
