SAVANNAH, Ga. () — The Chatham County District Attorney (D.A.) has announced the guilty plea and sentencing of a woman charged with murder in a 2024 hit and run.

D.A. Shalena Cook Jones announced on Thursday that Nieosheia Conner pleaded guilty to Malice Murder charges and was sentenced by Judge Benjamin Kapf to Life in Prison with the possibility of parole on Wednesday.

In Feb. 2024, an altercation between Conner and the victim, 24-year-old Montanya Slusher, began in the bathroom of Barrelhouse South on Congress Street in Downtown Savannah. The argument escalated and resulted in both parties, along with friends, having words in the parking lot of the establishment. After the fight was broken up, eyewitnesses claim Conner was getting into her white SUV and backing up at a high rate of speed toward the victim.

Chatham County Prosecutor, Lyle Burnham recounted the incident during Wednesday’s sentencing saying, “Nieosheia Conner ran over Ms. Slusher as she was running toward the SUV and as she was fleeing the scene, Conner drove over top of her again.”

The altercation and murder were caught on surveillance videos from cameras in the vicinity.

Conner was found several hours later in the driver’s seat of the SUV and DNA swabs taken from the bottom of the vehicle confirmed the presence of Ms. Slusher’s DNA.
