FRESNO COUNTY, Ca. () — The 27-year-old Georgia woman who survived more than two weeks stranded by a blizzard in the California mountains spoke out about her experience.

Tiffany Slaton was found safe in a cabin at a resort in the Sierra Nevada Mountain range.

According to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, the resort’s owner found Slaton after snowplows cleared the road to access and open the property for the summer.

Slaton was found dehydrated but otherwise in good condition. She was taken to a hospital for observation but has since been discharged.

Slaton says she survived on foraged leeks and melted snow and took shelter in the cabin after she was unable to call 911 or get GPS directions.

Slaton said, “I had pretty much fallen off of a cliff trying to go on vacation for the first time. I may never do a real vacation longer than three days ever again.”

Her father, Bobby Slaton, said, “We raised our kids to be outdoor camper-type people. Tiffany got the love of foraging and gardening and plants from her mother and I because that’s what we do on our farm. We have a micro-farm in Georgia.”

Slaton’s disappearance prompted a massive search from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office. The most recent update came the day before she was found with a general appeal to anyone travelling in the area to keep a lookout for her.
