AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. () – On January 24th, Aiken County Deputies responded to a home on Aiken Road in Graniteville.
Upon arrival, the victim opened the door reportedly covered in blood, and told deputies that her boyfriend was in the bathroom.
The suspect, Marquis Felts, was arrested without incident.
Reports say the woman told police that while she was in the bathroom, she and Felts began to argue about infidelity and past partners; that’s when Felts allegedly pushed her into the tub, jumped on top of her, and began to punch her in the face.
Felts allegedly stomped on her face with his shoe, leaving an imprint; then held her face under the faucet and reportedly turned the water on in an attempt to drown her.
The victim was able to get away and ran for her cell phone.
That’s when reports say, Felts began choking her and stating “You’re gonna die b*!#h”, as the woman started to lose consciousness. She told deputies that for a brief moment, she was able to grab an iron and a bottle of liquor and hit Felts over the head to get him to release her.
During the struggle, an accidental call was made to the victim’s co-worker, who called ACSO for help.
Deputies reported the victim had severe bruising and swelling to her entire face, a busted upper and lower lip, a partial shoe print on her face, and several bruises on both arms.
Marquis Felts is charged with Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature and Kidnapping.
He remains in the Aiken County Jail.
