DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is offering a Coyote Track workshop in Danville next weekend.

The IDNR is hosting this opportunity for educators at the Kennekuk Environmental Education Center in Danville on June 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees can learn about coyotes and how scientists study them through real data from radio-collared coyotes in rural and urban parts of Illinois.

Participants are going to be able to see how a data-based, interactive visualization tool can be used in the classroom to teach about ecology and behavior. Participants will learn about how and why scientists are studying coyotes throughout the state, including learning about telemetry and how the information is gathered.

This workshop is for third grade through high school teachers. Sponsored by IDNR, this workshop is part of the ENTICE (Environment and Nature Training Institute for Conservation Education) program.
