Every year, more than 60,000 new cases of leukemia are diagnosed in the United States. is joining with the Leukemia Lymphoma Society to present Light the Night in Savannah on Thursday, November 20th, at the Park at Eastern Wharf.  Light The Night is a gathering to celebrate, honor, and remember those touched by blood cancers, like leukemia. In 2025, we’ll be joined by Memorial Health, Summit Cancer Care, Lowcountry Cancer Care, Kiewit Companies Foundation, The Courtney Knight Gains Foundation, Chatham Parkway Subaru, St. Joseph’s Candler, Pintail Site Preparation, SGA Dental, JTVS Builders, Chatham Dental Care, Lasky Justus Law, Lo Go Goods, DCS Dental Claim Support, Bar Julian, Enmarket, and Thompson Savannah to bring light to the darkness of cancer. The funds raised by this Savannah community support life-saving blood cancer research, provide free information and support services, and serve as a voice for those seeking access to quality, affordable, coordinated care for patients and their families – like Sofia.

At just three years old, Sofia went from an active toddler to too tired to play—until a blood test revealed she had leukemia. Her family was thrust into a world of hospital stays, isolation, and fear, but they found strength and support through The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Light The Night. Today, Sofia is back in school and fighting strong—families like hers need your help to keep moving forward.

We are United to End Blood Cancer. By 2040, LLS will enable people with blood cancer to gain more than one million years of life. This means more birthdays, more graduations, more cherished moments and memories with family and friends. Light The Night Savannah/Southeast GA Event Details

Date of Event: Thursday November 20th, 2025
Event Location: The Park at Eastern Wharf, 101 Port St, Savannah, GA 31401
Parking Logistics: The Park at Eastern Wharf is located along the Savannah River at the east end of the Riverwalk. We are accessible by entrances at General McIntosh Blvd and East President St.

Metered on-street parking can be paid at kiosks or by downloading the Park Savannah mobile app, and is enforced from 8AM-8PM Monday through Saturday. Space numbers are listed on the curb next to your parking space.

Parking is also available in the public Eastern Wharf Parking Garage which is located at 301 Passage Way, on the new Eastern Wharf Development. The garage has 696 public spaces available. Daily customers will exit the parking garage using an exit verifier/kiosk which accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa only (NO CASH).

What if it rains on event day?

How can I pick up a lantern?
All registered participants receive a lantern to be picked up at the Lantern Tent at the walk.

Is the event appropriate for children?
Yes! Light The Night is a multi-generational event! The Kids Zone will feature many different games and activities for children.

Do kids need to register?
Children 12 years old and younger do not need to register but must be accompanied by an adult to receive a lantern at the event.

How do I get a T-Shirt?
All registered participants who raise $100+ on their individual fundraising page will receive a t-shirt that can be picked up at the walk.
