MATTOON, Ill. (WCIA) — An inspiring young artist from Mattoon is making headlines with her unique contribution to the NFL. Eight-year-old Raelle Jackson, who has been using art therapy as a means to navigate her cancer treatments, will soon see her artistic talents showcased on the cleats of an NFL quarterback.

While undergoing treatment for leukemia at the Saint Louis Children’s Hospital, Raelle was invited to create a design for the NFL’s “My Cause My Cleats” initiative. Her artwork caught the attention of Brady Cook from the New York Jets, who will sport her custom-designed cleats during his summer camp. Following the event, the cleats will be auctioned off, with proceeds benefiting the hospital where Raelle is receiving care.
