This YouTube video, which featured all the deleted parts from “No Way Home,” had a few comments from fans about the gym scene. User HECTOR HD wrote, “A lot of these scenes would’ve really helped add to the first act in playing up just how bad his identity getting revealed was, cus I feel like that’s where it lacked the most.” Musical History said they were glad to see more of Peter in school. “[I]t’s kind of compacted way [too] much in one scene in the movie of just how Peter going to school was suddenly a big deal,” they continued.

Though the film did depict how the reveal affected Peter’s life at school, it was only a small part of the two-and-half-hour movie. Peter had been there for years, and though he had friends, he wasn’t widely known. Suddenly, his secret’s out, he and his friends are in the spotlight, and his life has completely changed in the course of a few days. If we had seen more of things like this — rather than it being compacted into one small section of the film — we would definitely understand more of what troubled Peter and eventually pushed him into visiting Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and setting the whole story into motion.
