Timothee Chalamet's Favorite Movie Is The Best Superhero Film Ever Made

In the realm of cinema, Timothée Chalamet has established himself as a force to be reckoned with. Known for choosing roles that captivate audiences, his appreciation for film is equally discerning. Surprisingly, Chalamet’s all-time favorite movie is Christopher Nolan’s iconic “The Dark Knight.”

When it comes to cinema, few can argue with Timothée Chalamet. On top of consistently picking roles that leave an impression on audiences, his taste as a movie fan are equally impeccable. In fact, what you probably never knew about Timothée Chalamet is that his favorite movie of all time is none other than Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight.”

Praised as a groundbreaking achievement in superhero films, “The Dark Knight” transformed the genre long before the Marvel Cinematic Universe skyrocketed to fame. It was the first comic book movie to surpass the billion-dollar mark at the box office and earned Heath Ledger a posthumous Oscar for his unforgettable portrayal of the Joker. Beyond its financial and critical acclaim, the film played a pivotal role in elevating superhero movies to serious cinema. It’s arguable that without the triumph of “The Dark Knight,” the explosive growth of comic book films might not have happened.

Despite his admiration for “The Dark Knight,” which he told The New York Times inspired his acting career, Chalamet has yet to venture into the superhero genre. This might be disappointing news for Warner Bros., which has an exclusive first-look agreement with him and would likely jump at the chance to cast him in a DC Universe role (perhaps as Nightwing?).

Chalamet’s reluctance may be partly influenced by Leonardo DiCaprio, his co-star from 2021’s “Don’t Look Up.” When queried by The New York Times about the possibility of playing a superhero, Chalamet shared DiCaprio’s advice: “Well, Leonardo DiCaprio said to me, ‘No superhero movies, no hard drugs.’ Which I thought was very good.”

However, Chalamet hasn’t completely closed the door on the possibility. He hinted that he might be open to a superhero role if the script and director are compelling enough. So, for Warner Bros. and DC Studios, getting Christopher Nolan on board might just be the key to seeing Chalamet don a cape in the future.

As it turns out, Warner Bros. may have Leonardo DiCaprio, who starred alongside Chalamet in 2021’s “Don’t Look Up,” to blame for the actor’s hesitancy to try on a cape or cowl. When asked by The New York Times if he ever considered playing a superhero, Chalamet revealed the advice he received from DiCaprio. “Well, Leonardo DiCaprio said to me, ‘No superhero movies, no hard drugs,’” Chalamet said. “Which I thought was very good.”

Having said that, Chalamet offered a glimmer of hope. Rather than outright saying the option was off the table, he stated that he’d be willing to consider a project depending on the script and director. In other words, Warner Bros. and DC Studios better get Christopher Nolan on the phone if they want to see Chalamet in one of their upcoming superhero movies or shows.
