PROSECUTORS are planning to recharge actor Alec Baldwin with involuntary manslaughter in connection to the fatal Rust movie set shooting, according to reports.
The move comes six months after New Mexico prosecutors dismissed the exact same charges against the actor, citing new evidence and requesting time to investigate.
The rejuvenated case is expected to be brought before a grand jury in mid-November, sources revealed to NBC News.
Discussions of a potential plea deal have been held, according to the outlet.
At the time, New Mexico prosecutors said they reserved the right to recharge Baldwin, saying: “This decision does absolve Mr. Baldwin of criminal culpability and charges may be refiled.”
The case revolves around the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the Rust film set during a rehearsal on October 21, 2021.

Hutchins was rehearsing a scene with Baldwin in an old wooden church at Bonanza Creek Ranch, a famous movie location in Santa Fe.
The Beetlejuice star was handed a loaded prop Colt .45 revolver but was unaware that it contained live ammunition.
Baldwin fired the live round, striking Hutchins in the chest and wounding director Joel Douza.
Following the incident, a distraught Baldwin was seen sobbing outside a police station after being questioned by authorities.
At the time, Baldwin, who has long maintained his innocence, described the shooting as a tragic accident.
Baldwin is facing up to 18 months in prison if convicted.
