The Velazzio Thermo1 Battery Heated Gloves were found to overheat during use, which poses a severe burn hazard to users.

The recall urged customers to remove the battery from the gloves and properly dispose of them in accordance with local hazardous waste procedures.

The CPSC has received 137 reported incidents of overheating, resulting in 119 burn injuries.

Amazon already took down the popular Velazzio Thermo1 Battery Heated Gloves from its website following the recall.

Chinese manufacturer Jining Liexing Outdoor Products Co., Ltd. produced the recalled gloves.

The products were sold with a black carrying case and charger, and cost between $9 and $140.

Approximately 58,700 units have been sold on Amazon since the product’s launch in September 2019.

The product safety warning number is 25-418.

To properly dispose of lithium batteries, customers are advised not to throw them out in the trash, general recycling, or used battery recycling boxes.

Lithium batteries should be disposed of in a more careful manner than other batteries due to its increased fire risk.

To dispose of the lithium battery, Americans should visit their local municipal household hazardous waste collection center.
