An American man who was kidnapped in Mexico has been found in the jungle with his eyes taped shut and hands bound together.

Joseph Constantine Buonincontri, 35, was violently abducted from his home in Limones on February 4. He was discovered alive three days later after several men demanded a $200,000 ransom.

The New York native was dramatically rescued by the Mexican army following a tip by locals who saw armed men driving a taxi from Tulum into the remote area.

Jaw-dropping footage shows the moment he was found tied up under a makeshift shelter in the wilderness in Mexico’s Quintana Roo province.

In the video, a terrified Buonincontri is seen sat on the ground with his wrists and ankles bound together.

As the military approach, they ask if he is doing okay and if he would like some water.

But Buonincontri only begs for a cigarette and for his restraints to be loosened.

The clip was posted on bordelandbeat.com which translated the entire conversation where a soldier tells the captive they have been sent from the Mexican army 7th Motorized Cavalry Regiment to help him.

The operative can be seen motioning to his comrades not to come any closer as he converses with Buonincontri.

The captive tells him he is originally from New York but lives in Quintana Roo.

‘Do you remember the day that you were kidnapped?’ the solider asks.

‘No, I can’t recall the day. I don’t even know what day this is,’ Buonincontri replies.

Authorities said they also recovered a backpack with marijuana, a tactical vest and loaded magazines for an AR-15 from the scene.

The captive told investigators he had been snatched by ‘unknown people’, Mexican Daily News reported.

The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Quintana Roo said in a statement that Buonincontri had been located thanks to a joint effort between the Mexican  National Guard, state police and the army.
