“So we have reports that several Americans may be among the dead,” the Secretary of State said while speaking with NBC News.

“We are very actively working to verify those reports.”

“Similarly, we’ve seen reports about hostages and they’re, again, we’re very actively trying to verify them, and nail that down,” he added.

It was estimated that nearly 2,000 rockets were fired near the southern portion of Israel as militants from Gaza stormed the area from all areas, even by air through the use of paragliders, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) told CNN.

Hundreds of Israeli and Palestinian civilians were reportedly killed in the attacks.

A total of at least 350 deaths were confirmed in Israel, and 313 Palestinians were said to have been killed in Israel’s retaliation against the Gaza militants.
