Cops raced to the stretch of the tracks where the trio was standing at around 6 pm, but couldn’t get there in time to save them, the Bristol Borough Police Department confirmed.

By 6:10 pm, a southbound training heading to Philadelphia was approaching the family and couldn’t be stopped.

Police Chief Joe Moors didn’t immediately disclose any details behind the deaths but described the incident as a “tragic accident.

However, another police official told LevittownNow.com that Cramp was on the tracks to try and help one of his sons, who was suffering from a mental health crisis.

The son’s brother raced onto the tracks to try and help when the train came and hit all three of them, a resident told the Courier Times.

According to death reports seen by NBC affiliate WCAU, David and Christopher’s causes of death were listed as accidents, while Thomas’s was listed as a suicide.
