A JANUARY 6 US Capitol protester among 1,500 pardoned by Donald Trump has been arrested after allegedly sending explicit messages to a cop he thought was a teen girl.
Andrew Taake, 36, assaulted officers with a metal whip and bear-sprayed cops as pro-Trump supporters swarmed on the Capitol to stop congress certifying Joe Biden’s election victory.
Taake was serving a six-year prison term at a federal Houston lockup before he was pardoned by Trump.
Just weeks after being pardoned, Taake, 36, has been arrested on a child sex crime charge that dates back to 2016, per The Texas Tribune.
He is accused of sending explicit text messages to an undercover cop posing as a girl, 15.
Taake was arrested two weeks after being on the run, according to police.
Officials in Harris County said he was staying at a property in Leon County.
Sean Teare, the Harris County District Attorney, was thankful for authorities work in getting “this suspected child predator back into custody.”
In June 2024, Taake was slapped with a 74 month sentence after he pled guilty to one count of assaulting, resisting or impeding officers using a dangerous weapon.
