Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has made headlines by refusing to appear on Fox News, citing accusations of sexual harassment by one of the network’s hosts. The New York representative, known for her outspoken views, leveled these serious allegations on Wednesday when approached by Fox News producer Johnny Belisario on Capitol Hill. Belisario extended an invitation for Ocasio-Cortez to join Jesse Watters on his show. Without missing a beat, Ocasio-Cortez retorted, “He has sexualized and harassed me on his show… He has engaged in horrific, sexually exploitative rhetoric.”
AOC’s Accusations Against Watters
Belisario refuted her claims, responding, “That’s not true, Congresswoman.” However, Ocasio-Cortez stood her ground. She recalled a specific instance where Watters accused her of having an interest in White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller. “It is true,” she insisted, “He accused me of wanting to quote, unquote, sleep with Stephen Miller. So why don’t you tell me what you think is acceptable to tell a woman? Thank you.” With that, she walked away from the cameras, leaving the confrontation unresolved.
Stephen Miller, a crucial figure in Trump’s administration, is well-known as the architect behind the president’s stringent immigration policies. An article in The Atlantic described Miller as an “acquired taste” among Trump aides, even drawing comparisons to Heinrich Himmler, a key figure in Nazi Germany’s regime. The controversy with Watters began in October when he provocatively claimed on air that “AOC wants to sleep with” Miller, a statement that shocked many, including Watters’ co-host Greg Gutfeld, who commented, “That was pretty creepy.” This claim followed AOC’s own remarks about Miller, calling him a “clown” and making fun of his height.
‘It is so obvious. And, I’m sorry, you can’t have him,’ Watters added The 47-year-old host added that he knows Miller ‘the best’ and that he is ‘not overcompensating.’ Watters then went on to scold and lecture AOC on what he classified as ‘high value men’, adding that Miller is the definition. Miller’s wife, Katie, was even asked by Watters on a later appearance on Fox: ‘What is it like being married to such a sexual matador?’ Katie replied that her husband was ‘an incredibly inspiring man’ who ‘wakes up the day ready to carry out the mission that President Trump was elected to do.’
AOC Doubles Down On Her Comments
Ocasio-Cortez on Wednesday night doubled down on the comments she made to the Fox producer. ‘You can either be a [expletive] or ask me to be on your little show. Not both,’ she wrote in a post on X. ‘Good luck.’ Although Fox has given her extensive coverage throughout her Congressional career, AOC has never sat down for a traditional interview on the television network. The Daily Mail has contacted Fox for comment.
