Three arrested for trading in human parts in Ogun

On April 22, Sunday Akintobi, a 36-year-old male resident of Itoku area in Abeokuta, was captured by the Ogun State Police Command’s SWAT unit for suspicions of involvement in the trafficking of human body parts.

 

Following police inquiries, two more individuals, Oladimeji Olaniran (40 years old, male) and Isaiah Tijani (38 years old, male), were also apprehended in connection with the case.

 

CSP Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the command, announced that during a search of their homes, body parts suspected to belong to humans were discovered and recovered.

‘’Cerebral bones were also recovered from a location disguised as a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Kobape town and along Abiola Way in Abeokuta.”

 

Odutola mentioned that the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to conduct discreet investigation into the case to establish full involvement of the suspects in this heinous crime.
