Border patrol agents have arrested a bearded woman after homemade tire spikes were allegedly used on agency vehicles.

Four people were apprehended by agents after an immigration enforcement action in a Home Depot parking lot in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, on Tuesday.

Officials said the four ‘attempted to impede and obstruct our efforts, using improvised devices aimed at disabling our vehicles’.

Images shared by the agency show a crudely fashioned tire spike made from rusty nails and what looks to be a strip of metal pipe.

Jasmine Jeannine Allard, 28, Jenaro-Ernesto Ayala, 43, Jude Sadot Jarnica, 54, and Daniel Montenegro, 30, were arrested after the incident.

A source told Fox News that one of the individuals is transgender. The Daily Mail has confirmed that Jude previously used a female name.

USBP Chief Patrol Agent Gregory Bovino said: ‘They are facing felony charges for placing homemade tire spikes to disable law enforcement vehicles.

‘Anyone who interferes with our lawful mission will be arrested. The case is being reviewed by the US Attorney’s Office. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.’

Allard and Ayala are affiliated to Instituto de Educacion Popular del Sur De California (IDEPSCA), according to the non-profit group, which says it works to ‘organize and educate’ immigrants.

The group said the two were arrested while ‘observing and documenting’ the immigration raid.

The pair operate a day labor center out of a building inside the Home Depot car park, the not-profit said.

Meagean Ortiz, executive director of IDEPSCA, told the LA Times: ‘I have not seen any evidence of what the federal government is accusing my staff of doing.

‘I do have evidence of masked federal agents tackling not just my staff member, but other volunteers who were recording.’

The group held a press conference on Tuesday night and demanded the release of all four suspects.

Cal Soto, an attorney with the National Day Laborer Organizing Network, told the outlet ICE agents were picking up people based on the color of their skin.

Soto said: ‘It is not a crime to be looking for work to support your families and it’s not a crime to be brown, Latino and looking for work.

‘It is also not a crime to observe and record law enforcement when they are enacting these kinds of raids.’

He also said he had attempted to enter a facility to provide legal representation to Allard and Ayala, but was turned away.

It comes after a gunman was killed after storming a US Border Patrol building in Texas on Monday.

The gunman, identified as Ryan Louis Mosqueda, approached the Rio Grande Valley Sector Annex near McAllen International Airport early Monday morning.

He was armed with an assault rifle and was wearing tactical gear when he ambushed Border Patrol agents.

After Mosqueda was killed, law enforcement found other weaponry, ammunition and backpacks inside the vehicle.

The attack comes as the President’s administration ramps up deportations.

Stephen Miller, the president’s deputy chief of staff and chief architect of his immigration policies, has set a target of at least 3,000 immigration arrests a day.
