A FAMILY’S desperate search for their missing mom has ramped up after a mystery voice was heard in her last phone call to her daughter.
Syreniti St. Clair, 21, is begging for answers in her mom’s disappearance two weeks after she vanished without a trace, the worried daughter told The U.S. Sun.
Billie Jo St. Clair, 44, was last seen on February 17, leaving her three daughters worried sick as they scour San Antonio, Texas, for a trace of their mom.
The day after she was last seen leaving her daughters’ place, Billie Jo called Syreniti from an unknown number.
Syreniti, her middle daughter, said it wasn’t unusual for Billie Jo to borrow a phone to call her three daughters – but the conversation’s abrupt ending struck her as odd.
The mom and daughter were having a “semi-emotional” talk when Billie Jo was interrupted by someone, Syreniti said.
“There was a lot of noise in the background, but I could hear them say, ‘Are you almost done?'” Syreniti recalled to The U.S. Sun.
“Then she said, ‘I’m talking to my daughter.'”
Then the call disconnected.
“We literally have no idea who it could be,” Syreniti said about the person who asked for their phone back.
“I couldn’t even say if it was a female or a male, it was that distorted. I just heard what they said.”
Syreniti said the audio was loud, like her mom was in a crowded place.
Billie Jo often makes calls from other peoples’ phones because her own phone only works when it’s connected to Wi-Fi.
While it’s typical of their mom to leave the house for long stints, it’s unlike her to not contact her kids – and she hasn’t been in touch since February 18.
The mom, who has her daughters’ phone numbers memorized, will typically contact them at least every other day – even calling from payphones or borrowing strangers’ phones to do so.
“It’s just weird that none of us have heard from her,” Syreniti added.
If people think there is a sighting of her, even if they think it’s remotely her, if they can just take a picture and send it. I know it’s a lot to put that little bit of effort, but if it was your parent, you’d want that little extra effort put in too.”
Syreniti St. Clair
Skyla, Syreniti, and Savanna St. Clair have asked for the public’s help to find their mom.
No one knows where Billie Jo went after leaving Skyla and Savanna’s shared apartment on the southwest side of San Antonio.
Her family has asked the city to keep an eye out for Billie Jo, saying she often spends time on the south and west sides of the city, according to CBS affiliate KENS.
Syreniti has even shared her phone number to make it easier for people to send tips if they see Billie Jo around town.
PLEA FOR PICTURES
Now, the family asks for people to take a picture or speak to Billie Jo if they see her.
“There’s been some sightings that me and my sisters have been getting messages about, but nothing pans out,” Syreniti said.
“If people think there is a sighting of her, even if they think it’s remotely her, if they can just take a picture and send it,” she pleaded.
How to help

Billie Jo St. Clair, 44, was last seen wearing a multi-colored blouse, blue jeans, and two backpacks on February 17.
The missing mom is thought to be on the south and west sides of San Antonio, Texas.
Billie Jo is 5’3 with hazel eyes and shoulder-length brown hair that she was last seen wearing in a bun.
If you have any information on Billie Jo’s whereabouts, call San Antonio Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit at (210) 207-7660.
If you’d like to share a tip with Billie Jo’s family, please contact Syreniti St. Clair at (210) 514-8761. Please include a picture or any specific details you have.
Syreniti said it’s hard to tell which tips are legitimate unless there’s more information to go on.
“I know it’s a lot to put that little bit of effort, but if it was your parent, you’d want that little extra effort put in too,” she said.
Billie Jo, who often stays with her oldest and youngest daughter, wasn’t acting any differently before she disappeared, Syreniti said.
She said her mom, who suffers from bipolar and schizophrenia, often walks around the city just to get out of the house.
MYSTERIOUS FRIEND
Lately, Billie Jo has been spending time with a mystery man who drives a red, older-model Ford truck.
However, Syreniti wasn’t sure how they met – and said she heard he was “bad news.”
While the man’s name is unclear, he reportedly wears his hair in a long ponytail.
Billie Jo is known to surround herself with people as she’s a “very friendly person,” Syreniti said.
“She will literally talk anybody’s ear off as long as they’re willing to talk to her,” she joked.
The mom’s bright and outgoing personality are just a few reasons why her daughters desperately want her to come home – even if she doesn’t want to give a reason for her disappearance.
“Even if she doesn’t want to talk to us, she can just reach out to the police and say she’s okay so we don’t have to worry about it,” Syreniti said through tears.
“She’s our world, she’s our everything.
“This situation has really opened our eyes and we just really want her back and miss her.”
San Antonio Police said Billie Jo was last seen wearing a colorful blouse, blue jeans, and two backpacks.
Her family is offering a mystery reward for anyone with information about Billie Jo’s whereabouts.
