Brooklyn Beckham was left with tears streaming down his face as he took part in the viral ‘one chip challenge’.

The budding chef, 23, got more than he bargained for as he filmed himself eating one of Paqui’s tortilla chips, which are covered in extremely hot seasoning.

The aim of the spicy challenge is to wait as long as possible before eating or drinking anything.

Brooklyn didn’t appear to adhere to this part of the challenge however as he had a glass of milk to hand while he was eating the chip.

Tears quickly started to stream down his face as he ate the chip which is made with the Carolina Reaper, the world’s hottest chili pepper.

The Paqui website reads: ‘Eat the entire chip. Wait as long as possible before drinking or eating anything.

‘Post your reaction on social media with #onechipchallenge and mention @paquichips.’

There have been reports of people suffering with stomach pains after taking part in the challenge, with an ambulance recently called to a school in Minnesota after a group of students ate the chips.

Some people took issue with Brooklyn taking part in the challenge, with one Instagram user writing: ‘DO NOT EAT THESE CHIPS!! I’VE HAD 7 KIDS IN MY ER BECAUSE OF THOSE CHIPS.

‘THERES A SURGEON GENERALS WARNING ON THOSE. WAY TO PROMOTE THAT!’

Another person claimed they had seen ‘three cardiac arrests’ in relation to the challenge.

One user added: ‘They’re called paquis one chip challenge they are extremely hot with the hottest peppers ever. Very dangerous’.

Paqui warns not everyone should try the challenge, saying: ‘Do not eat if you are sensitive to spicy foods, allergic to peppers, nightshades, or capsaicin, or are pregnant or have any medical conditions.’

The company also warns to keep the chips out of reach of children and to seek medical assistance if you experience nausea, fainting or difficulty breathing after eating.

Brooklyn has spoken of his desire to become a chef but has previously come under fire for his basic cooking tutorials.

Critics have previously called attention to Brooklyn’s lack of training and expertise, while condemning the cost of his professionally edited Instagram videos.

A source has said of Brooklyn’s overblown crew and budget: ‘It’s unheard of. It’s the sort of crewing you would expect on a big TV show.’

The insider added that each episode of his eight-minute online show costs $100,000 to make.
