Jashanpreet Singh, a 21-year-old undocumented immigrant from India, is currently detained by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department in California. He faces charges of DUI resulting in significant injury and gross vehicular manslaughter while under the influence.

This arrest follows a devastating crash on a Southern California freeway that occurred on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Singh, who was driving a semi-truck, collided with slow-moving traffic near the junction of the I-10 and I-15 freeways close to Ontario, California. The tragic incident led to the deaths of three individuals and left four others injured, with two sustaining serious injuries.

Dashcam footage from Singh’s truck reveals that he crashed into stationary traffic on the freeway, showing no signs of attempting to swerve or reduce speed.

Viewer discretion is advised:

Reports indicate that Singh was apprehended and subsequently released during the Biden Administration.

Singh was reportedly caught and released during the Biden Administration.

Per multiple ICE sources, Jashanpreet Singh, the semi-truck driver suspected of killing three people in a DUI crash on the 10 freeway in Ontario, CA yesterday, is an Indian illegal alien who was caught & released at the CA border by the Biden admin in March 2022. DHS photo of him attached via federal sources.

I’m told ICE is placing a detainer request on Singh with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, where he is in custody on suspicion of DUI causing great bodily injury and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. He has not been formally charged yet.

Police say Singh was speeding and under the influence, never hitting his breaks, when he crashed into slow moving traffic on the freeway, causing a devastating and deadly chain reaction crash that killed 3 people. The victims have not been identified yet.

The question of how an illegal alien obtained a driver’s license period, let alone the CDL (Commercial Drivers License) required to operate a semi, is answered in two words: Gov. Gavin Newsom.

In September 2022, Newsom signed into law California Assembly Bill 1766, which expanded the existing state law that does not require anyone residing in California to provide proof of legal residency in order to obtain a driver’s license. AB 1766 broadened this to include obtaining a state ID card without having a REAL ID.

A REAL ID is needed by all CDL drivers if they wish to enter a federal facility while picking up or delivering cargo. Nevertheless, under Newsom, California has shown no reticence in issuing CDLs to illegal aliens, no matter the cost, as has been documented here by RedState’s Ward Clark and Becky Noble.
