Students at Georgetown University appear to be organizing a Charlie Kirk lookalike contest for Thursday, timed to coincide with the first anniversary of his assassination.
The planned event has drawn sharp criticism from conservative organizations after it circulated on Fizz, the anonymous social media app used by Georgetown students and affiliates.
The anonymous post read: “Charlie Kirk lookalike contest. September 10th 2026. Pull up to Copley Lawn to speak the truth while the cost is high.” It had amassed more than 2,200 upvotes.
September 10, 2026, marks one year since Kirk, the founder of the conservative student organization Turning Point USA, was fatally shot while seated at a debate table in Utah.
According to Fox News, one Fizz user responded beneath the announcement by writing: “Can the winner of the Charlie Kirk one be prom king with the winner of this?”
Another user reportedly suggested The Georgetown Chimes, a choral group at the school, sing the meme song We Are Charlie Kirk: ‘Any chance Gtown Chimes could learn this before Thursday?’
The allegedly AI-generated song was released shortly after Kirk’s assassination last year.
The Turning Point USA chapter at Georgetown said it considers the post mockery and set up a table on the university’s campus with American flags, stickers and signs in response.

Undergraduate student and president of Georgetown University’s Turning Point USA chapter, Heidi Sui, condemned the posts made on Fizz and considers them inappropriate mockery
The student group also told Fox News that they don’t know who is behind the posts but said users must be associated with Georgetown University to log into the platform, as it requires an ‘@georgetown.edu’ email.

The Daily Mail obtained a screenshot of another post on the platform that read: ‘Happy Kirkiversary, September 10th, on Healy Lawn’ which featured a seemingly AI generated photo of Kirk. The post also featured the words: ‘Honoring leadership, inspiring truth’ and ‘Charlie Kirk lookalike contest.’
Heidi Sui, Turning Point USA’s Georgetown University Chapter President, told Fox News in a statement: ‘The TPUSA Chapter at Georgetown strongly condemns any events that aim to disrespect Charlie Kirk and the upcoming memorial ceremony at UVU.
‘These events are not representative of how Americans feel about Charlie and his legacy. To the millions of us who listened to his debates, Charlie never celebrated violence. But some liberal students do. And they are doing it right here — in our nation’s capital of all places.
‘This reaction from Georgetown students should disturb us regardless of our political affiliation. There is a difference between disagreeing with someone’s politics and celebrating their death.’
The Daily Mail also obtained a photo of a more recent post that appeared to directly target the chapter’s president saying ‘Kirkiversary lookalike contest relocated to Heidi Sui dorm room 3:00 AM’ and the ‘winner gets an interview on Fox.’

Georgetown University’s Turning Point USA chapter reportedly does not know who is behind the posts on the social media platform
A Georgetown spokesperson told the Daily Mail it is not aware of any student organization hosting the event and condemned the post’s rhetoric, saying officials are monitoring the situation.
The spokesperson also said: ‘Georgetown is committed to ensuring that all members of our community have a safe and welcoming place to learn and receive the support they need to do so. We seek to create a living and learning community that promotes thoughtful, respectful dialogue.
‘While Georgetown’s policies give latitude for the free expression of ideas and opinions, making light of a victim of violence is counter to our values and deeply disappointing. Students are expected to know the policies that guide life on campus, including the Speech and Expression policy and the Code of Student Conduct.’
