A TEEN boy allegedly turned himself in just minutes after stabbing his mother to death.

The 13-year-old Miami boy was taken into custody shortly after cops received the shocking 9-1-1 call.

According to Hialeah Police, officers responded to Derek Rosa’s emergency call late Thursday night.

“He called right away; he called after he did it and pretty much turned himself in over the phone, I guess you could say,” explained Hialeah Police Lt. Eddie Rodriguez.

Allegedly, the young boy remained calm and collected over the phone, answering “Yes, ma’am; no, ma’am,” Rodriguez recalled.

Police arrived at the apartment complex, banging on the door until Rosa responded.

He was instructed to come out of the apartment with his hands above his head.

Video footage captured by a neighbor shows the boy approaching the officers before being restrained.

“Right now, we’re all in disbelief,” Rodriguez remarked.

While the boy was being cuffed, other officers rushed inside the unit to find his murdered mother, 39-year-old Irina Garcia.

Cops said she “was found on the bedroom floor by Hialeah Police patrol officers with multiple stab wounds to the neck.”

Even more disturbing, her lifeless body was just inches away from her two-week-old baby girl, Rosa’s half-sister.

“Next to a crib. Inside of that crib, a 14-day-old baby that thank goodness was not hurt,” Rodriguez said.

“Now that 13-year-old has been taken into custody, he is facing some very serious charges,” Rodriguez explained.

Rosa appeared in court on Friday afternoon, where he was charged with second-degree murder.

According to police, Rosa was an honor roll student at a nearby Charter school and had no history of mental illness.

“It’s a very tragic, sad story, and now we’re just in the process of talking to family members to see if they can shed some light on this,” Rodriguez said.

Police are hopeful that they will unearth more information by looking through his laptop.

So far, the boy has offered no explanation for why he stabbed his mother to death.

Community members were shocked to learn about the horrific killing.

“I wouldn’t even begin to imagine what the family is going through,” said neighbor Sandra Valdez.

The investigation into the murder is ongoing.
