Chris Cuomo’s comeback? Former CNN anchor seen arriving at NewsNation

Looking all spiffed up in a blue button down and slacks, Chris Cuomo was today seen entering NewsNation’s studios on 42nd Street in New York City. Cuomo, 51, arrived for his widely publicized interview with Dan Abrams about his highly contentious departure from CNN, his life since and where he will next turn up. Sources close to Cuomo tell DailyMail.com that he will announce his next move during the interview.

It has been rumored in media circles for months that Cuomo has been in discussions with NewsNation about hosting a show for the fledging cable network that aims to compete with Fox News, MSNBC and CNN. Today’s sighting will only add to the speculation.

When approached, NewsNation declined to comment, but did say that Cuomo’s interview with air this evening on NewsNation’s Dan Abrams Live at 9pm ET /8 pm CT. Cuomo has been laying low since he was dramatically fired from CNN for helping his brother in his bombshell sexual harassment scandal. 

But he leapt back into the spotlight with a gutsy Instagram post baring his bod and showing off his tattoos. And the former TV host even hinted at a possible comeback, teasing: ‘Something’s coming…Summer ’22.’ 

He was bounced from the Atlanta-based cable news network in December 2021 after a video deposition surfaced of him admitting that he strategized with his brother, ex-governor of New York Andrew Cuomo, on how to beat the pressure to resign following accusations of inappropriate and sexually charged behavior by nearly a dozen women. 

Then he lost his lucrative gig with the satellite radio titan SiriusXM, followed by HarperCollins’ announcement that they were deep-sixing his musings on the Trump administration and the pandemic response titled ‘Deep Denial.’ 

This isn’t his only foray back into public life. On July 2, he posted another Instagram video, this one from Ukraine in which he interviews a Ukrainian soldier. Cuomo explains in the caption that he’s there with ‘his brother Sean Penn’ and brags about how close he came to fighting. 

‘I will show you the danger next – we were right where the shelling is,’ he wrote. Cuomo also posted a selfie as well as bombed out buildings and cars in the war-torn country. Cuomo admits to advising his brother on sexual harassment scandal

The Yale University grad with a Fordham Law degree was always considered the intellectual counterweight to his brother’s thuggish and autocratic style. Cuomo did time at nearly all the news networks throughout his career, working for Fox News, CNBC, MSNBC, ABC and CNN, finally getting his own show from his good friend and boss Jeff Zucker, who was also fired for violating the company’s rules on dating subordinates.

After losing the $6 million-a-year gig for running interference for his brother, Cuomo sued the network for $125 million. ‘Cuomo has had his journalistic integrity unjustifiably smeared, making it difficult if not impossible for Cuomo to find similar work in the future and damaging him in amounts exceeding $125 million, which includes not only the remaining salary owed under the Agreement, but future wages lost as a result of CNN’s efforts to destroy his reputation in violation of the Agreement,’ according to the suit.
