He’s accused of setting the Pennsylvania Governor’s mansion alight, and has been hit with several charges, including arson and attempted murder.

Footage, obtained by the NBC affiliate WCAU-TV, showed a handcuffed Balmer. 38, being escorted into court, flanked by two cops.

He was stone-faced as journalists put their microphones to him.

But, suddenly Balmer’s eyes bulged as he stuck out his tongue.

Balmer didn’t give any remarks before being taken into the courthouse for the arraignment.

Balmer, a mechanic, pulled funny faces while he was being taken to a police car following the hearing.

He allegedly firebombed the mansion in the early hours of Sunday morning while Governor Josh Shapiro and his family slept.

Shapiro and his family were taken to safety following Sunday morning’s attack.

Balmer reportedly told cops that he would’ve beaten Shapiro with a hammer had he seen him.

Cops revealed there was significant fire damage in the piano room and dining room of the home.

Two Heineken beer bottles containing gasoline were found inside, according to a complaint seen by The U.S. Sun.

Balmer took the gas from his lawnmower and filled the beer bottles with it.

He walked an hour from his home to the Governor’s Mansion before scaling a fence.

He allegedly smashed two windows with a hammer before hurling the Molotov cocktails inside.

Surveillance footage captured Balmer leaving the grounds of the property and cops later discovered gloves he was wearing.

Police said the gloves had a strong smell of gasoline.

Cops also seized a black bag, a small sledgehammer, and a black Snap-On Jacket.

Balmer was arrested after turning himself in and taken to a local hospital in connection with a medical episode he suffered.

A source told CNN that Balmer was calm and relaxed while being quizzed by cops.

He did not enter a plea and is due to appear in court on April 23.

After Balmer was arrested, it emerged that he had shared rants on social media, blasting Joe Biden and the government.

The New York Times reported how he has had previous run-ins with the law.

In 2023, he was charged with assault and was awaiting trial for driving with a suspended license, as reported by the NBC affiliate WCAU-TV.

Balmer has been hit with a slew of charges following the suspected arson attack.

He has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated arson, burglary, and terrorism.

Shapiro has called for an end to political violence.

President Donald Trump labeled the suspected arsonist a “whack job.”
