RESIDENTS of a Minnesota neighborhood have shared their outrage over an HOA dispute that’s left concrete barriers blocking off a main road.
The Boulder Pointe HOA in Elko New Market, about 30 minutes south of Minneapolis, claimed a homeowner in the neighborhood set up the bizarre scene after a property deal went sour.

“It’s been incredible. This guy’s got some sort of private feud and everybody’s paying for it,” resident Pat told Fox affiliate KMSP in May 2022.
Last year, massive concrete blocks were arranged in the center of a main road in the neighborhood, preventing school buses and mail trucks from easily accessing homes, the resident said.
According to an email sent by the HOA, they were put there by someone who owns multiple properties in the neighborhood after they couldn’t make a deal on the sale of some surrounding land.
Police investigated the situation, and said that emergency vehicles still have access to all of the homes, so it is not a threat to public safety.
They told annoyed homeowners that it was a civil suit and could not get involved.
Residents wondered when they could stop driving all around the neighborhood to get out, and real estate agents feared it could affect sales.
“It’s just been very challenging and it shouldn’t be,” said broker associate John Wichmann.

“It sheds a negative light on a wonderful community.
“Elko New Market is growing, it is robust, the city planners are fantastic, the city crews are fantastic and now, we have this dispute.”
Wichmann explained that he had recently closed on a townhome in the community, but finishing the process was difficult thanks to the conflict and barriers.
“Fortunately, we got it sold (right away) because the market is still really, really good, but now we go to get title insurance,” he said at the time.
“We have to get a mortgage for the property.
“The lender does not want to lend on something that could potentially cause problems or liens against the property.
“The title company doesn’t want to insure over potential liens against the property.”
It’s unclear if the issue has been resolved.
The dispute comes as a trucker said his HOA is filled with so-called Karens after he was targeted for not being able to maintain the lawn standards.
And another homeowner has started an HOA fight club to wage war against organizations she claims are fleecing people out of money.
