A network of left-wing protest organizations is facing allegations of inciting ICU nurse Alex Pretti to engage with immigration officers in Minnesota, later leveraging his fatal encounter to advance their anti-ICE agenda.

Fox News has reported the existence of a sophisticated system comprising ‘ICE trackers’ and protest coordinators, said to be prepared to dispatch activists swiftly after Pretti was fatally shot by border patrol agents on Saturday.

The report suggests that Pretti, along with other demonstrators, was present after obtaining prior information about immigration officers’ plans to detain an undocumented immigrant in the area.

The protesters purportedly aimed to obstruct the officers, which was allegedly part of a broader strategic effort to disrupt law enforcement activities.

Video footage of the incident captured Pretti rushing to assist a woman who had been pepper-sprayed, leading to a street altercation where he clashed with several officers. During the struggle, one officer appeared to remove a handgun from Pretti’s waist.

Seconds later, a border patrol officer shot Pretti several times in the back, sparking widespread protests amid debate over the justification for killing him. Pretti’s gun had been taken out of its holster before he was killed, with the Department of Homeland Security blasted for lying that he had ‘brandished’ it at officers and accusing him of being a ‘domestic terrorist’.

Within hours, a national network of far-left protest groups and organizers were using encrypted group chats to rally supporters, intended to foment clashes with immigration authorities in the immediate aftermath of the tragedy, per Fox News.

The outlet cited encrypted Signal messages that showed ‘rapid responders’ moved quickly to summon ‘backup’ to the scene where Pretti was killed, and urging medics to join ‘in case agents start gassing’ protesters.

The coordinated level of response from protesters was remarked upon by Vice President JD Vance on X following protests across Minnesota over the weekend.

‘This level of engineered chaos is unique to Minneapolis. It is the direct consequence of far left agitators, working with local authorities,’ Vance wrote.

In Signal messages between protesters, local ‘rapid responders’ made at least 26 entries into a database called ‘MN ICE Plates’, to track vehicles used by immigration officials.

According to the report, a video shared to the group chat just moments before Pretti was shot showed a user called ‘Willow’ tell other protesters that immigration officers were outside the Glam Doll donut shop.

The video showed two agents, one wearing a vest marked ‘Police’, surveying the front door of Glam Doll before walking away, past a sign in the window that read, ‘ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA.’

The person filming then yelled, ‘no’ and ‘get out of here’ at the officers outside the shop.

Minutes later, another user called for ‘backup’ to the area, before another sent an ‘urgent’ message appearing to alert others to Pretti being shot.

‘Observers urgently requested at Glam Doll donuts @26th and Nicollet. An observer has been shot by ice, unknown condition, emts present, please be safe,’ the message read.

The apparent coordination between anti-ICE protesters in the aftermath of Pretti’s death was remarked upon by officials in the wake of Pretti’s death, including ICE Assistant Director Marcos Charles who said Sunday that violence on the streets was ‘not a coincidence.’

Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Commander-at-Large Greg Bovino also said that Pretti was ‘on the scene several minutes’ before the fatal shooting, alleging that he was agitating officers beforehand.

Within minutes of Pretti being shot, groups of protesters were directed to the scene through the group chats, and boxes of supplies including winter clothes and water were sent, per the reported Signal messages.

Similar organizational efforts from far-left groups have been seen in the wake of recent divisive incidents, including rapid protests supporting Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro following his arrest by US forces earlier this month.

According to Fox News, a hub of ‘communist and socialist nonprofit organizations’ are behind the protests, many of them are funded by American-born billionaire Neville Roy Singham, a self-declared Marxist-Leninist living in Shanghai.

Soon after Pretti was identified as the victim of the shooting, the accounts shared quickly-created graphics, calling for ‘Justice for Alex Pretti.’
